Homer has a very bad day but that changes when he wins a Mapple MyPad at the school (thanks to Lisa who bought a ticket for him). Homer becomes obsessed to the new gadget, doing nothing else but playing on it. Eventually he falls into an uncovered sewage and breaks the MyPad tablet.
Homer gets depresses over his life again but Flanders picks up Homer's spirits when he finds the word "Hope" written on The Simpsons' backyard tree in sap and everyone sees it as a miracle.
